State Trooper Shot Following Chase After Traffic Stop In Frisco

FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) – A Texas Highway Patrol trooper was shot during a traffic stop in Frisco this Friday afternoon.

It started on the Dallas North Tollway near Spring Creek.

The driver evaded the trooper and continued driving north to the 6800 block of Lebanon Road before stopping in an apartment complex parking lot. At some point after the vehicle stopped, the trooper was shot by a single suspect.

The trooper was transported by Frisco Police to an area hospital for treatment.

A search for the suspect has shut down eastbound Lebanon and a nearby school was placed on lockdown.

Police are urging people to stay clear of the area.

“We’re asking residents in the area to stay where you are, to stay safe inside your home… if you’re already out of the area, do not try to return to your home,” said Officer Radd Rotello, Frisco Police Department.
